Dwight Howard has been in the news lately; however, for reasons he won’t be proud of. Howard has vehemently denied the allegations of sexual assault and battery that were brought against him earlier this year by a man named Stephen Harper. He is currently pursuing the dismissal of a civil lawsuit related to these claims. However, he has confirmed that he engaged in consensual sexual activity with the male accuser he met on Instagram.

The lawsuit leveled multiple accusations against the former NBA star, including assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and false imprisonment. In the lawsuit, Howard is accused of engaging in sexual acts without Harper’s consent. Harper stated that they initially connected on Instagram and provided text messages and an Uber receipt as evidence of their meeting at Howard’s residence. Howard contends that all the sexual acts were consensual.

However, Harper’s version of events painted a different picture. In his complaint, he contended that Howard had brought someone dressed as a woman named “Kitty” into the situation, and he alleged that he was forced into participating in sexual activity with both Kitty and Howard.

Howard’s lawyer recently issued a statement in which the former NBA player admitted to engaging in a threesome but emphasized that it was consensual. 

The three agreed to touch one another and to engage in consensual sexual activity.

This has led some to speculate about Dwight Howard’s sexual orientation and whether the big man is homosexual.

Dwight Howard may have acknowledged participating in consensual sexual activity with a man and someone dressed as a woman named “Kitty.” Nonetheless, this doesn’t necessarily indicate Howard’s sexual orientation and prove that he is homosexual.

Howard has encountered rumors of him being gay before. In fact, in 2019, he spoke about rumors about his sexuality and told everyone that he was not gay. 

"I went through a situation last year that really just set me free, It ended up being a situation that was—it went viral. People were talking about it, and it upset me because I didn’t even know who the person was. Why would somebody who I never met, never had any contact with, make up a whole story about me? I saw all the hate, the pure hate, from people that I’ve never met before, just pile up everywhere I went."
Howard said during his interview with Fox Sports 1’s Kristine Leahy.

Leahy further asked the former LA Lakers superstar to confirm that he meant he was not gay, and he did.

I'm not gay. It’s a lot of people who are and they have to hide, and there’s people who have mental issues and they have to hide. There’s people who have different problems in life and they have to hide. They have to put on the mask every day, and it’s like, I don’t wanna wear no mask, I just wanna be.

Interestingly, his ex-wife, Te’a Cooper, revealed in 2021 that their marriage ended when she discovered that Howard cheated on her with multiple people.

While these revelations aren’t conclusive evidence of Howard’s sexual orientation, they certainly don’t work in his favor.
