Isaiah Thomas Hopes for NBA Comeback after Waiver by Hornets

Former NBA All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas is making a bid for a comeback after being waived by the Charlotte Hornets in November 2022. Despite his struggles with the team, Thomas has been working tirelessly to stay in shape and prepare for any potential opportunities in the league.

The 33-year-old player has been actively sharing videos of his workouts on social media, expressing confidence in his ability to still play at a high level. His determination and resilience have been evident as he continues to train relentlessly and showcase his skills to the world.

Thomas joined the Hornets in March 2022, but failed to make a significant impact for the team. He was brought in to provide scoring and playmaking, but struggled to find his rhythm and played limited minutes. Over 15 appearances for the Hornets, he averaged only 6.3 points and 2.3 assists in 12.8 minutes per game, with a career-low 34.5% shooting from the field and 25% from three-point range.

Despite these challenges, Thomas’ former teammates from the Boston Celtics, where he had his best seasons from 2015 to 2017, have voiced their support for him. They have praised his work ethic, leadership, and heart, and have stated that they would welcome him back if he ever returned to the Celtics.

Thomas has had a tumultuous career in the NBA, having been selected as the last pick in the 2011 NBA draft, but ultimately becoming an All-Star twice in 2016 and 2017. His best season came in 2016-2017 when he averaged 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game for the Celtics. However, injuries and consistency issues have plagued his performance in recent years.

Despite these setbacks, Thomas remains steadfast in his pursuit of a return to the NBA. He is determined to prove his worth and contribute to a team, with the hope of securing another opportunity to play at the highest level. As the NBA season progresses, it remains to be seen if Thomas will be able to make his comeback. Nevertheless, his unwavering dedication and tenacity in the face of adversity serve as a testament to his love for the game and his unyielding spirit.

Michael Scotto reported that the Los Angeles Lakers had finally realized they were weak on wings and had just brought in free agents Jeremy Lamb, Dwayne Bacon, Miye Oni, and Shabazz Muhammad for workouts.

Shortly after, he reported that Isaiah Thomas, Armoni Brooks, Sharife Cooper, and Mychal Mulder had all worked out for the team. When Thomas heard the rumour, he immediately rushed to Twitter to reject it and ask Scotto who his source is, as he voiced his disgust with the phoney news.

“No, I did not train for the Lakers!!!! What SOURCE informed you about this? “Smh,” wrote Thomas. For what it’s worth, Isaiah Thomas’ workout with the Lakers was first questioned. As we previously stated, his prospects of making the Los Angeles Lakers roster are slim, considering that the team recently acquired two guards, dealing for Patrick Beverley from the Utah Jazz and signing free agency playmaker and scorer Dennis Schroder is without a team going into the new season.
