“Draymond Green does that in a grade school game, not in the NBA Finals”: Isiah Thomas blames Draymond Green for Warriors Game 3 setback at TD Garden

“Draymond Green does that in a grade school game, not in the NBA Finals”: Isiah Thomas blames Draymond Green for Warriors Game 3 setback at TD Garden

Isiah Thomas and Draymond Green

Isiah Thomas ripped apart Draymond Green for having the least impactful NBA Finals game as the Hall of Famer believes the former DPOY has lost focus while trash-talking and can cost the franchise a championship. After Game 2 win, Draymond Green brought himself in the spotlight by talking out anything and everything to anyone he wanted to. But all that talk wasn’t backed up by him in Game 3 of the Finals against the Jayson Tatum-led Boston Celtics. As he was of no help to the team and so were his talks. He was neither good on the defensive end nor on the offensive one. So the two-time champion with the “Bad Boys” Isiah Thomas is very correct with his criticism for the Warriors’ defensive expert.

Draymond Green in Game 3 of the NBA Finals played for good 34 minutes but had only 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. He also got two turnovers and six fouls which resulted in him fouling out and leaving the game early but that didn’t matter as he was already just running coast to coast out there with no numbers or even an impact. Even the Celtics fans called him out every time they had an opportunity to as they booed him and chanted “Draymond Sucks” and “Fu*k you Draymond”. He didn’t back up his teammates and wasted a solid performance from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as they lost the game. The final box score stands at 116-100 favoring the Boston Celtics. A 16-points embarrassing loss for the Warriors.

Isiah Thomas’ critical take on Draymond Green is very sensible and also correct. As that’s like a tight slap on the face for the former DPOY to open his eyes and start focusing on the Finals rather than the media, podcast, and Cedric Maxwell. As The Baby Faced Assassin quoted: “The NBA Finals, and when you’re playing for a championship, it really is about your mental toughness and your mental focus, and being able to totally 100 percent concentrate on your opponent. Shutting him down, understanding their offensive and defensive schemes. Any time you lose that focus or that concentration, and you’re talking about Cedric Maxwell and you’re talking about podcasts and you’re talking about the fans, then you have really lost your concentration and your focus.”

Isiah was being very real with his harsh words for Green as he further quoted: “And where does that show up? That shows up in the box score in a game like tonight where you played 34 minutes, you have four rebounds, three assists, and two points. Draymond Green does that in a grade school game, not in the NBA Finals. So when you talk about focus, this is what the NBA Finals is about, and right now he has lost focus in terms of concentrating on beating the opponent.”

Isiah Thomas also backed up his point of Green being out of focus as he mentioned how he is talking about Cedric Maxwell and Boston Celtics fans and not about Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, or Jaylen Brown. Many fans ride with this take of Zeke as even they believe the same as so far the defensive expert has been all talk and no actions.
