After qualifying for his particular contract extension, Memphis wasted no time tying down their All-Star to a Max deal, and Morant too happily extended the gratitude shown. “Begin” would be a questionable word in the title, as Ja Morant and Grizzlies are already making a strong push in the West for the last 2 seasons. Winner of the Rookie of the Season award, Morant showed the capability of carrying the team deep into the playoffs. He topped the rookie award with the 2022 Most Improved player accolade, as the team was making a huge run in the league, setting new records for the franchise in the regular season.

Ja Morant averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game leading Memphis to a franchise-record 56 wins in the 2022 season. In the playoffs also Ja proved too hot to handle as they outclassed the experienced Minnesota team in 6 games. But now, it looks like he’ll have plenty more time to make magic happen in Memphis. Morant was a second-team All-NBA selection last season, making the All-Star Game. With Morant, the Grizzlies are poised to be a contender in the Western Conference next season and beyond.

Ja Morant’s play solidified him as one of the game’s young superstars, even though he missed 25 games due to injuries. He gained huge popularity in a short period of time and established himself as a franchise player right from his Rookie season. Ja Morant himself tweeted the deal in hilarious manner,

The “Murray State” prodigy is looking to make more impact with the young and talented team by his side. He remained a starter through-out his NBA Career and averages 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists per game in 187 games played.  The news on Ja Morant’s extension follows the Grizzlies re-signing his backup point guard, Tyus Jones, to a 2-year, $30 million earlier in the evening.
