Ja Morant target The warriors in post game interview
Memphis Grizzlies put up a clinical performance against Golden State Warriors in game 5 of their Western conference semifinal round. Pumped-up Ja Morant took the opportunity to mock opponents predicting the final result of the series on camera.
Memphis team was under pressure as they were playing in the possible “do-or-die” game, that too without star player Ja Morant. But home environment and urge to stay in the postgame, ensured the whole Memphis team to contribute in the134-95 win. Wherein 3 Grizzlies scored 21 points each and defensively also hold off Warriors under 100 points. Supporting from the bench, Ja Morant was excited about the result and made sure his team go to the next game with a huge mental advantage.
In the post-game on-court interview, Brandon Clark was not given any chance to answer many questions as Morant was quick to grab the mike and chant “Grizz in 7” as a possible outcome of the series. Clark and the team also joined in mocking the visiting team.

Ja Morant missed 2nd consecutive game in the series due to a bone bruise in his right knee. But his presence and impact on the game were obvious, especially when it was FedEx Forum. Ja encouraged his team throughout the game and finally screamed the result of the series in a post-game interview.
Determined Grizzlies players kept a firm grip on the game right from the tip-off. Interestingly they never trailed in a possible elimination match. With this win, they improved their record to 4-11 in elimination games.
In absence of dynamic guard – Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Tyus Jones made the plays and scored 21 points each. Replacing Morant in starting line-up, Jones provided game-high 9 assists in addition to 3 rebounds. Veteran Steven Adams holds the rim area well, grabbing 13 rebounds in total for the Grizzlies. Jaren Jackson Jr provided a massive performance with 21 points and 8 rebounds in the game.
There was no single-player dependency for the Memphis in the game, which allowed the team to dominate the Warriors. The third quarter was the pinnacle of their game as they outscored Steph Curry and co. 42-17, possibly closing out the game early. The team had already shown the capability of winning games, as they hold a 20-5 record this regular season without marquee player Ja.
As for the Warriors, it was yet another game with several turnovers and poor shooting helped the home team to gain confidence and momentum in the game. Stephen reacted with “everything” – that went wrong for the team, while team top scorer Thompson (19 points) gave out an “awful” reaction over the performance.
Charged-up Dilion Brooks said over the win, “I would say we are energized. We’re locked in, and we’re all eyes on Game 6. Try to keep surviving.” Grizzlies will travel to San Francisco for the Friday night game, and clearly, the momentum is with the young team at the moment.
