“Ultimate Trickster,” Jalen Green hits out at Chris Paul over in-game calls

Chris Paul and Jalen Green

Chris Paul is now in his 18th season in the league and with the experience that he’s garnered over the course of these 17 years, he seems to have acquired a few unconventional tricks up his sleeves according to fellow NBA player Jalen Green. The young Houston Rockets’ player mocked him by calling him the ‘Ultimate Trickster’. In their final outing on Tuesday, the Rockets stunned the Phoenix Suns, winning 111-97. After beating the Milwaukee Bucks 97-92 on Sunday, they extended their winning streak to two.

The Rockets (9-18) have been driven by Green, who is primarily to blame for their improved performance. When he forced Chris Paul to turn the ball over late in the game, he was vital for the Houston Rockets. Second-year player Green talked about how happy he was to surprise Paul. He talked about how fantastic it was to make the veteran travel and how CP3 has the refs on his side.

Speaking on the matter he said, “That’s the ultimate trickster in the league. He has the refs on his side. He controls the whole game. I didn’t really think of it like that. I was just trying to make sure we put the game away.”

Chris Paul, who is currently in his 18th season, has been very good at getting the calls he wants over the years. Every team he has played for has benefited greatly from his ability to be a floor general thanks to his high basketball IQ.

Phoenix Suns (16-12) have dropped five straight games for the first time this season, four of which were by double digits. Two of their defeats came at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans, who many consider being the beginning of a rivalry. Chris Paul has had difficulty since making a comeback from an injury. The Suns went 9-5 during the 14 games the future Hall of Famer missed. The Suns are currently fourth in the Western Conference rankings despite having only recently held the top spot.

The drop in performance of Devin Booker may be blamed on their bad performance. The All-Star guard was having an MVP season, but in his last three games, he had trouble shooting from the floor. In his last three games, Booker averaged 14 points while shooting 31.9%. Before the playoffs, the Suns still have plenty of time to turn things around.

Despite not having high expectations for the season, they would be a club to beat if they advanced to the playoffs.
