James Harden and Chris Paul have made their way back to the NBA headlines. The reason is not them reuniting somewhere. But that may soon be the reason. As the Houston Rockets are down to have the duo back in the system once again. James Harden is already a sure lock for the Houston Rockets and now they are also considering acquiring Chris Paul.

Kelly Iko of “The Athletic”, recently reported how the Houston Rockets‘ primary objective this season is acquiring a veteran point guard. And the report suggested how the franchise considers Chris Paul as an option if he’s made available. And, if everything goes down well for the Rockets they may once again run it with the duo of James Harden and Chris Paul.

James Harden to the Houston Rockets can be called a lock. As the franchise was questioning the candidates for the head coaching job about coaching The Beard before they selected Ime Udoka as their guy. Also, James Harden has denied his player option with the Philadelphia 76ers. As he demands a 4-year extension worth $200 million and more.

The Houston Rockets are rebuilding and want to be a championship-bound team as soon as possible. Also, they have the correct cap space to get their former leader back. But bringing in Chris Paul isn’t going to be easy. As he’s under contract with the Phoenix Suns until the 2025 summer. Even though the last two years aren’t fully guaranteed, the franchise isn’t letting him slide away as he’s a great veteran and voice in the locker room. And, the rumors also suggest him to stick the Kevin Durant-led Phoenix Suns at least until the season begins.

Why did the duo of James Harden and Chris Paul break at Houston Rockets?

James Harden and Chris Paul played together for two years. It was one of the best duos of the best guards in the league. The two seasons they spent together were fruitful but unfortunately, they never got to the NBA Finals. And, we all know how well their rivalry against the Golden State Warriors aged. The main reason behind them breaking their duo apart was beef with their offensive system.

Chris Paul wanted out of Houston Rockets because the franchise star, James Harden was least interested in the offensive system when it wasn’t going through him. This had Chris Paul annoyed and Harden cared the least. This beef grew and soon they had to part ways with CP3 going to OKC. Now both being old and not the primary ball handler for the team maybe their reunion at Houston Rockets work.
