“They were all on me..” James Harden takes the blame for ‘unnecessary’ unforced turnovers against the Timberwolves
The LA Clippers lost 100-118 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
LA Clippers veteran guard James Harden
James Harden didn’t have the best of nights against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. With Kawhi Leonard getting withdrawn as a result of an unexpected injury, many had expected the Beard to step up, but he ultimately failed as the Clippers couldn’t keep up with the T-Wolves’ surge.
Harden had a timid game all night, compared to the Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards, as he attempted just 10 shots – a disappointing performance for a player of his caliber. And with Russell Westbrook not available, it was only Paul George, the other member of the Clippers’ ‘Big Four’ who looked like he would be an offensive threat.
Apart from their important players failing to step up, one major thing led to their shocking downfall, turnovers. The Los Angeles Clippers had a total of 18 turnovers, with Harden giving up four turnovers himself, a number that led to their shocking loss. While ‘The Beard’ was being completely honest about the turnovers, he said this after the game when asked what he felt about the turnovers being mostly caused by his team:
Definitely my turnovers. My turnovers weren’t forced by anybody else. They were all on me, and you can go back and look at this. That’s something I can control, that I can get better at. And I will.James Harden said
James Harden ended the game with 12 points, two rebounds, and seven assists while shooting 40% from the field and 33.3% beyond the arc. However, the Clippers have another opportunity to make amends when they visit the United Center, in Chicago to face off the Chicago Bulls.
James Harden speaks about his shoulder injury
James Harden has been nursing a shoulder injury for some time now but has still managed to play through the pain. He was listed as questionable once again against the Timberwolves but was passed fit to play and continued his games played streak to 59 games.
After the game, he was approached and asked by Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points if he would need to take a game or two off to properly tend to his shoulder. A defiant Harden replied:
We’ll see tomorrow how I feel.James Harden said
Harden who joined the Clippers via a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers, after a fallout with their General Manager, wasn’t expected to play so much considering his injury history. This season he averages 17.5 PPG, 5.2 RPG, and 8.3 APG.
