“Am I a Quitter,” James Harden takes sly dig at Kevin Durant citing why he demanded trade from Brooklyn Nets

James Harden and Kevin Durant

James Harden has made his way back to the NBA headlines. As he recently fired a shot against his former teammate and best friend, Kevin Durant. The Beard has always been criticized for being unloyal and hopping around when the team needs him the most. Since he got out of Houston and landed in Brooklyn. But unfortunately, James Harden had to part ways with the Nets as well and move ahead with the Sixers.

When James Harden forced his way out from Brooklyn Nets to the Philadelphia 76ers. Steve Nash and Kyrie Irving were blamed as the major reason. Also, the three superstars weren’t able to co-exist in the team. So Harden joined forces with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons was exchanged for him.

In the interview, James Harden also talked about the reality check he got when he was suiting up for the Nets. Discussing him forcing his way out he quoted: “I just feel like internally, things weren’t what I expected when I was trying to get traded there. I think everybody knows that.”

Further, clearing the dirt off his name by bringing Kevin Durant into the conversation. James Harden said: “And I knew people were going to talk and say, ‘You quit’ and all that stuff, but then the following summer, the other superstar there [Durant] wanted to leave. So it’s like: Am I still the quitter?”

James Harden’s take makes some real sense. As during the off-season, Kevin Durant demanded a trade out of the Nets. And, even gave the ownership and management an ultimatum to choose between him or Head Coach Steve Nash and General Manager Sean Marks. Fortunately, the Nets have held the team together even though they recently fired Nash.

Harden right now is balling out with the Sixers and handing out the perfect support to Joel Embiid. Last season didn’t end well for them as they were limited because of injuries. But now they look ready to take over the eastern conference and, especially, their rivals Brooklyn Nets.
