James Harden’s trade deal to Houston Rockets under BARGAIN with an alternate option in Raptors free agent
Houston Rockets are eyeing Fred Vanvleet, DIllon Brooks and others in case James Harden disappoints them.
Fred VanVleet and James Harden
James Harden joining hands with the Houston Rockets once again looked like a done deal. But unexpectedly, that’s under bargain and the Houston Rockets are seriously locked in to get better in the coming years. With the hiring of a new head coach, Ime Udoka they aim at becoming a championship-bound team as soon as possible. The rumors claim them to be interested in running it back with Harden. As they were even questioning the candidates for the head coaching job about The Beard.
But the Houston Rockets aren’t locked in with that move. As the Philadelphia 76ers are heavily retaining James Harden back from Free Agency. Rumors also claim that Harden is just trying to get the best price from the Philadelphia 76ers by using the reunion rumors. So in case he decides to stick with the Philadelphia 76ers and gets the expected bag, the Rockets still won’t be in any trouble.
The franchise has a cap space of $60 million this season. They can use that to land a superstar or a handful of stars with a veteran easily. Also, the Free Agent market this summer is very wide and the Rockets can land some much-needed talent on their roster.
Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports in his recent report revealed how Houston Rockets have a lot many options if James Harden disappoints them once again. In his report, he mentioned how the Rockets’ radar is on Brook Lopez, Cam Johnson, Dillon Brooks, and, especially, Toronto Raptors Free VanVleet. All the aforementioned stars are FA this summer and can help the young core of the Rockets reach new heights. But the priority is to add a veteran and trustworthy point guard.

Why are Houston Rockets just not locking in on landing James Harden?
James Harden is a free agent and having him back would be a golden deal for the Houston Rockets on paper. The reality can turn out to be disappointing. James Harden is no more the super-talented knockdown shooter with a deep bag.
With years passing by and him not being the main guy in any system, he’s turned into a point guard, who can be a great playmaker and have his moments on certain days.
The Houston Rockets also need an impact player who’ll be a game-changer for the team. James Harden isn’t a bad option and can be a solid mentor. But he’s almost 34 years old and looking for a contract for around $200 million for a long time. So locking in on such deals with so much money with a new CBA coming into action isn’t wise. Also, the Houston Rockets have plenty of Free Agents this summer to take a look at.
