James Harden made headlines when he wanted to leave the Philadelphia 76ers before the start of the season. His wish came about with a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers. And he has been playing lights out for the Clippers since.

In the game against the Indiana Pacers, Harden produced a game reminiscent of his Houston Rockets days. Hitting step-back three-pointers one after the other, Harden showed his Rockets days form. Something fans and analysts have always critiqued he has been missing during his time with the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. He hit four straight three-pointers in the fourth quarter. The last one culminated in a four-point play after being fouled by the defending Buddy Hield. Harden then hit a snow angel celebration while being mobbed by his teammates.

The Los Angeles Clippers‘ initial game plan was to feature their four All-Stars along with Ivica Zubac. This was an instant failure with a stretch of four straight losses. Head coach Tyronn Lue changed the lineup by shifting Russell Westbrook to the bench. From this point onwards the Clippers have won eight straight games. James Harden has been their playmaker. This has helped bring the best out of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Westbrook meanwhile shines with the second unit.

James Harden closed out the Indiana Pacers with a 35-point 9 assist game. Leonard and George contributed 28 and 27 points respectively. Three players amassing 90 out of the 151 points they dropped on the Indiana Pacers is good enough to win a basketball game any day. The Pacers lost the game 127 – 151 with Bennedict Mathurin scoring 34 points and 6 rebounds off the bench to lead them.

Fans remember the ‘Houston Rockets’ James Harden

Fans and analysts predicted James Harden would hinder the game of their other All-Stars. But their recent run of eight straight wins has shown otherwise. With Harden running the point, offensive as well as defensive efficiency from the entire Clippers lineup has been on the rise.
