Shaquille O’Neal and JaVale McGee were really hating on each other some years ago and were even ready to throw hands and end it all for once. The beef they had was very serious and entertaining for the fans at the same time. As many believe Shaquille O’Neal went a little too far away disrespecting JaVale McGee for his Shaqtin’ A fool moments.
In 2017, during JaVale McGee’s time with the Golden State Warriors. It felt like Shaquille O’Neal was targeting the center. As he always had trolls and jokes focused on him. So as expected one day JaVale McGee exploded on Shaquille O’Neal’s continued trolls and pokes for him. And, the basketball world spectated one of the greatest Twitter feuds ever.
Things were so bad and down that, both JaVale McGee and Shaquille O’Neal’s mothers had to step in so the drama can be stopped. It all started with the center calling out Shaq via an explicit tweet from his personal Twitter handle where he wrote: “@SHAQ get my ?’s out of your mouth! And EAD! #thatisall” This tweet gave rise to an online battle where none of them was stopping and going against each other. Find some of the many tweets they exchanged here below:
Shaquille O’Neal though was stopped by his mom as he said: “I have orders from the top to leave it alone.” Lucille O’Neal also addressed the whole exchange and protected Big Diesel with logical answers. She also felt sorry for what JaVale had to go through. But on the other hand, McGee’s mother, Pamela, slammed Shaq for being a bully as he cyberbullied her son.

Pamela McGee wanted Shaquille O’Neal fired for bullying JaVale McGee
Pamela McGee addressing the unfortunate incident and slamming Shaquille O’Neal said: “He cyberbullied my son. Totally inappropriate. Shaquille needs to lose his job or be suspended. The NBA needs to make a stand. If you really want to get technical with it, it’s bullying.”
Further, Pamela talking about the impact all of Shaquille O’Neal’s trolls have had on JaVale’s career said: “We all have little jokes and stuff. But when you continue to pick on just one person as his career is resurrecting there’s nothing to it but bullying. And it’s unacceptable. You can’t allow someone to continue to do this who represents TNT and the NBA… Broadcasters are held to a higher authority. He should lose his job.”
Pamela is not wrong in saying all that. But it wasn’t just Shaquille O’Neal’s fault as all of it was a part of a segment and for entertainment purposes. And, even the Twitter feud happened in the heat of the moment. Right now, things are down and good between the two, thanks to their moms. McGee as of now is with the Dallas Mavericks and is doing everything he can for the team while proving his worth as a veteran.
