With the NBA season coming to an end, Ja Morant will be hearing from the League Commissioner shortly about the duration of his impending suspension from the NBA.
The Memphis Grizzles Young star, Ja Morant is awaiting discipline from the NBA after displaying a gun on Instagram in May. The Point guard have been under fire before for the same reason earlier this past season and is projected to miss a huge chunk of games entering next season.
Former NBA player and analyst, Jay Williams still have a positive take on Morant’s situation hoping that he’ll turn over a new leaf : “[Ja Morant] has a chance to be one of the greatest redemption stories in basketball. … If you do the things as it relates to therapy and taking care of your mental health … you have a chance to still be the face of the NBA.”
Similarly, Miles Bridges of the Hornets missed 30 games for a domestic violence charge and could be used as a measuring stick for Ja’s suspension, as it have been revealed by the League that the suspension will be on the counts of safety and not a legal issue. Morant has been suspended by the Grizzles indefinitely.
Adam Silver is delaying the announcement of Morant’s discipline due to the NBA Finals and we can expect the announcement as soon as the Finals parade is over in Denver.
Fans react to Jay William’s take on the Ja Morant situation
The fans on Twitter are not on the page as Jay Williams as they believe that Ja Morant is adamant to change. Unless a drastic change happens in the Team roster construction that is void of Veterans, a change in Morant’s situation is not likely to happen.
Ja Morant is expected to miss a ton of games entering next season and have been involved in trade talks the entirety of this summer. The Grizzles have suspended Ja Morant indefinitely, but the League’s decision can be the main turning point for Morant to experience real changes.
