Patrick Beverley has once again managed the internet to purely hate him for another take of his. This time he’s appreciating and claiming his former teammate, Karl-Anthony Towns to be the best center in the league. The genuine basketball world knows how good of a trash-talker Patrick Beverley is on the court. But now he’s also fooling around with foolish takes via his podcast.

On the recent episode of his podcast, “PatBevPod,” Patrick Beverley downplayed and disrespected centers, especially, Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. As he claimed the best guy at number 5 offensively is his former teammate, Karl-Anthony Towns. While doing so, Beverley quoted: “I have my personal intake of who I think the best 5 man is. The conversation was Pat you played against KAT, you played against Embiid, you played against Joker. Who you think the best big man is?”

Further in the monologue answering the question, Beverley added:  “And, I go you all not gonna like my answer… Imma like cool, KAT. They were like WHAT! When it comes to like offensively gifted players… it’s KAT and it’s James Harden and I think I got KAT one… I’ve been around this motherf*cker.” The guys who got shocked by his answer had a fair and understandable reaction as choosing Karl-Anthony Towns over Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic while mentioning offensive skills is just hard to believe.

But again nothing is unexpected by Pat Bev. And, he really chose KAT over Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. Embiid recently won the scoring title and even bagged the MVP award. On the other hand, we have FMVP Nikola Jokic who just recorded a historic playoff run while clowning the opponents with triple-doubles every other night and has a fresh championship status.

But still, Patrick Beverley rides with Karl-Anthony Towns, maybe he’s trying to get back with him or just not watching basketball. As Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets humbly knocked out the Towns-led Minnesota Timberwolves in five games of the first-round playoff series. Now the Wolves have KAT placed on the trading block while the Nuggets celebrate their championship.

Nikola Jokic is the best offensive center and he can do anything on the court. Karl-Anthony Towns is surely one of the best big men in the league and maybe even the best when he’s drilling buckets from downtown. But not even a kid is going to choose him over Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic after mentioning the offensive end.

No disrespect to Karl-Anthony Towns but he isn’t yet in the same conversation with Joel Embiid and, especially, Nikola Jokic. Without a doubt, he’s one of the best when we talk about nothing but pure shooting. But even he’ll somewhere agree that there’s time for him to join the elite club of Nikola Jokic and Patrick Beverley just threw out a foolish take.
