The Boston Celtics lost to the Indiana Pacers yesterday. But the way the league-leading Celtics lost is what matters. Jaylen Brown chipped in with his opinion about the same.
Heading into the final 7 seconds of the game, Brown dribbled the ball to the right side of the court and took off for a fadeaway jumper. His shot goes wildly off the mark with the referees blowing their whistle for an apparent foul. The Pacers ask for a review. The referees overturn the call after reviewing. The Pacers get the ball. After that, the Pacers win. NBC Sports Boston asked Brown about the controversial call. He had this to say;
We definitely need to do some investigation. That call cost our team the game. We got the right to be upset.

Brown indicated that the referees got the call wrong despite clear video evidence of the foul.
Brown mentioned the league should not fine players for accusing the referees of wrong calls, especially when a controversial call affects the outcome. The losing sides tend to be upset with such a result. The overturned call led to what was the 8th loss for the Celtics this season.
Had the call been correct as per Brown, the result would have been different. Brown would have got 2 free throws with the game tied at 131 each and with just 3.2 seconds left in regulation time. Brown insists he was hit on the head from behind.
The Celtics could have handled business better
Despite missing superstar Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics have a plethora of options going into any game. Jaylen Brown provided the main ammunition with 40 points and 5 rebounds. However, it was not enough for the Celtics to win against a young Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers themselves lost star guard Tyrese Haliburton to an injury early into the second quarter. However, a collective team effort resulting in 7 players finishing in double digits did the trick for the team.
Add the controversial call into the mix and the Celtics are bound to be infuriated. The Pacers got the win. Brown is not happy, and ensured that he made his point clear.
