“Never dare touch my brother” Jaylen Brown sends Joel Embiid to the ground after he tried injuring Marcus Smart on purpose
The scuffle that involved Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid
There was evident displeasure on both sides as Joel Embiid and Marcus Smart got into a fight 19 seconds into the second half. That included Jaylen Brown, who confronted Embiid both when he was on the ground and as he was getting up.
Marcus Smart and Joel Embiid are determined competitors where Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers are renowned rivals. The NBA’s regular season began on Tuesday with a contest in Boston’s TD Garden. These two teams have a lengthy history of physical altercations that occasionally transcend over onto the court. In the Sixers’ 126–117 season-opening loss against the Celtics, there were brawls between Embiid and Smart of Boston early in the third quarter. Before the two sides were separated, Jaylen Brown, the superstar for the C’s, instantly intervened in the altercation and confronted Embiid. However, there is no love lost between Smart and Brown over Embiid.

The intense opening day tip-off between Boston and Philadelphia
The 2022–23 NBA season was commenced with a Boston Celtics victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, who both scored 35 points for the Celtics, were the team’s leaders. Boston broke the deadlock and won the game by outscoring Philadelphia 35-35 at the end of the third quarter. The path to Boston was paved with the usual contenders. Tatum and Brown were the team’s top two scorers, with Tatum also chipping in with 12 rebounds and four assists. The defenders of Philadelphia looked to be the object of a game of dominance by that combination. The Celtics’ current defensive player of the year, Marcus Smart, also contributed in with 14 points and seven assists.
James Harden led the Sixers with 35 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds. He was unquestionably the game’s most promising player. In addition to Joel Embiid, the previous season’s MVP runner-up, who had 26 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists, rising star Tyrese Maxey tossed in 21 points of his own, including nine in the fourth quarter. The three players didn’t provide enough for the Sixers to win their season opening. Although Embiid’s last game stats seem to be rather great, they may be misleading because his performance was far from remarkable. Simply put, the Celtics were simply too much for the Sixers to handle when it came to winning.
Things get chippy between Joel Embiid and Marcus Smart where Jaylen Brown comes to the rescue
Joel Embiid and Marcus Smart have a history of feuding and on Tuesday night, during the Celtics’ victory against the 76ers, they ignited their previous brawl. After going up for a rebound, Embiid and Smart became entangled. The teams had to be separated as tempers rose after an intense confrontation when Smart, who was obviously upset about what had transpired, pulled Embiid’s leg. As a result, the centre tumbled to the ground. Fastly rushing to Smart’s rescue, Jaylen Brown grabbed Embiid and pointed a finger at the Sixers centre. James Harden tried his best to calm things down as Brown was attempting to send a statement.
Only Smart received any fouls after review: a personal foul and a technical foul. It is not the first time that Smart and Embiid have fought on the floor. Smart was ejected from a game in 2019 after pushing Embiid to the ground. The incident didn’t result in any further fouls, but it did set the tone for the game’s second half, which was at the time back-and-forth. But in the third quarter of their 126-117 victory at TD Garden, the Celtics dominated the Sixers. After falling two victories short of winning the title the previous season, both Philadelphia and the Celtics had championship aspirations. It just takes time for both teams to find their flow.
