Jaylen Brown last month signed the biggest and richest contract in NBA history. Now he is under contract with the Boston Celtics until 2029 summer. Not many expected the Celtics’ front office to offer him the long-term supermax extension contract. He failed to lead the team to a Championship Run last season. But the Cs know exactly how important of a piece Jaylen Brown is in their system. So they made the smart decision and kept his duo with Jayson Tatum alive.

Jaylen Brown signed a 5-year supermax contract extension worth $304 million. And, now he has acquired generational wealth. But this wouldn’t have been possible if the media members didn’t vote him to the All-NBA Team. Him getting selected in the All-NBA Second Team last season made him eligible to sign the historic $300 million plus deal. Jaylen Brown received 169 votes from the different media members who together form the All-NBA voting panel.

Brown is very grateful to each one of them. As they’re the reason he has acquired generational wealth and won his team’s trust for the future. So Jaylen is thanking all of them in a classic act. As the talented guard has sent “Thank You” letters to all the media members who backed him up while casting their votes. Mike Singer recently revealed the appreciation note he received from Jaylen Brown and his team.

The letter from Brown to Mike Singer, read: “I wanted to thank you for your All-NBA vote this past season. I recognize the power and weight of the current system of All-NBA voting and the impact it has on players like me in the current NBA. I also recognize that it is not something any journalists like yourself signed up for. Nonetheless, I know you took the time to consider worthy candidates, and appreciate your vote. Wishing you and your family all the best this upcoming off-season and thank you again.”

Mike appreciated the special efforts made by Jaylen Brown. He even found it cool of him to acknowledge the media members vote who didn’t ask for their votes to carry enormous weight related to All-NBA voting. Now the Celtics and all those voters will be expecting a big season from the young guard and the only expectations are a championship run after that historical deal.

Brown is the first-ever player to ink a contract worth $300 million or more. For the coming season, he’ll be making $28.5 million. His extension kicks in from the 2024-25 season where he’ll be getting $49.7 million in salary.

His average salary with the extension is $57,652,000. Jaylen’s highest salary will be in the last year of the deal. In the 2028-29 season he’ll be making $65.6 million. Brown will become a Unrestricted Free Agent in the 2029 summer.

The historic contract doesn’t have a player option and has him locked in for the next 6 years. But unfortunately, he won’t be able to own the richest contract spot for a long time. As other All-Star players will also be signing their supermax extensions soon and with the salary cap increasing it’s expected for the players to bag more money than ever. His own teammate, Jayson Tatum is up for an extension next summer and can land a bigger contract than him.
