There are surely no doubts in stating that LeBron James has the calibre of taking a team till the NBA Finals even at the age of 37. Being once in a generation talent, it feels like Bron is aging like fine-wine on the court and the same has been acknowledged the President of the franchise, Jeanie Buss. Who has detailed upon keeping the 4xNBA Champ happy in order to have his services for a long-time.
The 60-year-old Buss feels that if the Los Angeles Lakers are to significantly turn the tables around in the 2022-23 season, LeBron James has to play a huge role. Moreover, LeBron has to inspire the team from the front. Having already been charged up after missing the postseason entirely, Buss urged the need for the franchise to keep their star-scorer happy and motivated for the next season.
Can LeBron James change the fate for Lakers in 2022-23 season?
LeBron James was certainly not a happy man at the end of the season. This was just his fourth time missing the playoffs. The 37-year-old had a stellar individual season, but the shortcomings of the Los Angeles Lakers kept affecting their results.
“I want him to feel confident in the team, that we have the pieces to win a championship. He has to be happy. … I want to make sure that he’s happy.”
Moreover, Buss feels that there is nothing wrong with star players getting involved in such big decisions. Expressing her views on the same, she said, “It’s normal when you have a top player or players you bounce things off of them, I think that’s smart business,”
With the build-up to the 2022-23 season already upon us, it remains to be seen what changes can Jeanie Buss and the Laker management are able to make in order to make a solid run for the championship in the upcoming season?
