“He is someone I admire for his basketball knowledge” Jeanie Buss’ true feelings towards Kurt Rambis might anger Lakers Fans

If only Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss hasn’t had enough for involving Kurt and Linda Rambis on operational decision, she has now gone onto lash onto the haters who are questioning their involvement. With the purple and gold franchise making some questionable decision in the past year or so, many expected Buss to change her approach. But surely that is not to be the case anytime soon. 

The Laker Nation isn’t very confident that the team won’t make the same mistake sin the 2022-23 offseason as well. To add to their concerns, owner Jeanie Buss has come out to defend Kurt Rambis’ involvement in operational matters of the team. Having heard the grumblings to the maximum point, Buss made it perfectly clear that her views are not going to change. 

What was opinionated by Jeanie Buss? 

“I know that there’s been some unfair criticism of Kurt Rambis,” she said, via Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times. “I want to remind people, he’s been involved in the NBA for close to 40 years, that he has been a part of championship teams both as a player and assistant coach, he is someone I admire for his basketball knowledge.” 

To those who are not aware, Kurt Rambis, as a player was indeed an all-time great. His credentials as a coach, however, leave a lot to be desired. Be that as it may, Rambis has been close friends with the Buss family and it is clear that he has a strong relationship in place with Jeanie Buss. 

“In terms of Linda Rambis, she does not have a role in the basketball department; her role is, as it’s been for the last almost 40 years, is as my advisor,” Buss said. “She and I have worked together for years and years and years. Why that has become an issue for people, I don’t understand.” 

To think about it, Jeanie Buss does make a valid point, both Kurt and Linda Rambis have been involved with the team for quiet some year. Even when the newly-equipped Lakers won the league in the Covid-affected 2020 season, they were there. So why weren’t any questions raised then?
