“No excuses on how I played tonight” Jimmy Butler makes honest admission after dropping just 6-points in Game 4 blowout loss
Jimmy Butler of Miami Heat
Before Game 4 at TD Garden began, many expected Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler to give a tough competition to Boston Celtics at home, especially when they were without Marcus Smart. However, Celtics saw they return of Robert Williams III, whose presence haunted the away team and especially Butler who was even brutally rejected while attempting a layup.
Having to already deal with right knee inflammation concerns from Game 3, Butler managed to start in Game 4 but his presence did not impact his team’s performance on the offensive end. Moreover, the Heat marquee only went onto score 6 points in a 102-82 blowout loss for the top seed of Eastern Conference.
Jimmy Butler struggles big time in Game 4 vs Celtics
After the game, Butler took up the blame for how he played against the Celtics. In a tweet by Nick Friedell, the Miami Heat’s All-Star forward said he had no excuse for this horrible 6-point performance, a factor that led his team lose by 20 points to Boston in a crucial Game 4 in the Eastern Conference Finals. Butler added that he’s not too worried about his knee, which caused him to the entire action of Game 3 at TD Garden previously.
This particular stat alone clearly indicates that Jimmy Butler and his fellow starters were really out of the groove during this particular contest, much to the detriment of Miami’s chances to make it back to the NBA Finals this year. Although Butler isn’t out of the woods yet with his problematic knee, Heat fans can expect their squad to come out with guns blazing when the series shifts back to Miami.
That being said, after this depleted effort in Game 4, Heat is expecting to avail the services of Tyler Herro once again. With Smart also returning for Celtics in the next game, all eyes will be on Heat’s offensive attack against the resilient defensive force of the C’s. Will Butler be able to cope up to once again produce his best form against an in-form Boston Celtics side? Remains to be seen.
