“We don’t got no TV games” Jimmy Butler reveals how NBA has no respect for Miami Heat
Jimmy Butler of Miami Heat
Outside of Miami Heat fans and NBA die-hards, most might not be aware that the Heat are on a 4-game win streak. This is their longest stretch of wins this season and has them above .500 for the first time at 16-15. The reason why fans are in the dark about Miami is because the NBA doesn’t want the fans to see them. At least that’s what their all-star forward Jimmy Butler seems to think.
“I don’t feel like the NBA rock with the Miami Heat too much anyway,” Butler told Heat Nation after their win over the Rockets on Friday. “At least we get to play somewhere. We don’t got no TV games or nothing.” His frustrations are justified. The Heat were not even in the top 10 for most national TV games when the schedule was announced despite being the #1 seed in the east last season.
31 games into the season, the only national TV game that the Heat have is the 111-104 loss to the Boston Celtics. They have had games on NBA TV but those don’t really count. NBA TV games are subject to local blackouts and rescheduling.
Butler is not the only Heat player to have said something about the former NBA Finalists not getting attention. Bam Adebayo, earlier in the month had this to say as per SI ,“You’ve got to think about: we were No. 1 in the East and people didn’t even pay us any mind. Us being where we’re at, they’re definitely not talking about us. The biggest thing for us is to keep stacking these wins.”

If there’s anything the Heat have proven in recent seasons, it’s that they take outside doubt and turn it into motivation. They were written off as outsiders ever since Jimmy Butler arrived in south beach but the Heat have made the conference finals in 2 out of his 3 seasons and reached the NBA Finals in 2019-20.

Butler, Herro and Adebayo lead Miami Heat to 4 straight wins
The Miami Heat have corrected the ship. After a dismal start to the season they found themselves at a 12-15 record and outside even the play-in. They have made the adjustments and after winning 4 straight they finally have a winning record. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro have been at the forefront of this run.
This streak is fuelled by 2-way dominance from Bam, averaging 19.7 points and 14.3 rebounds. Jimmy Butler, characteristically being a swiss army knife has averages of 22 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists. Added to their steady production has been lights out offense from Tyler Herro averaging 26.3 points. The guard exploded for 35 and 41 in consecutive games.

The NBA world might be sleeping on the Heat right now but history tells us that Miami will surely be a serious threat in the playoffs. They still have Erik Spoelstra, one of the best coaches in the league. Pat Riley is always lurking, looking to make a big trade and propel the Heat right into contention.
