Joel Embiid has led the Philadelphia 76ers to the eastern conference semi-finals battling through injuries and is now facing the Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat. He was elbowed by Pascal Siakam during the Sixers’ clash with the Toronto Raptors in the first round of playoffs. Joel Embiid suffered a right orbital fracture on his face due to the injury. He even missed the first two games which made the road easy for the Heat squad as they got a 2-0 lead. But with the return of the big guy, the Sixers bounced back and tied the series at 2-2. But unfortunately, that didn’t last long as the Heat got the job done in Game 5 and now stand one win away from advancing ahead at 3-2.
The Miami Heat hosted the Philadelphia 76ers at FTX Arena for Game 5. It was an important match-up for both the teams. But unexpectedly, the game wasn’t closely contested and head to head as the Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat established a lead early on the offensive end against the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid and James Harden were nothing but speechless watching the rivals run the floor. The final box score stands at 120-85 favoring the Heat an embarrassing 35-point blowout loss for the Sixers. The defensive end was also not that great last night as Joel Embiid was hurt and not able to play in his best form as his body wasn’t allowing him to.
In the game, Joel Embiid dropped 17 points, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds even though he was injured early in the game. As his fractured area on the face got smashed again during a contested play in the paint by Dewayne Dedmon. But he still suited up for the team and gave all his efforts till the end.

With six minutes and eleven seconds remaining for the second quarter to end Joel Embiid was down on the floor and broken. As in the clash of getting the rebound or making a lay-up Dewayne Dedmon smashed Joel Embiid’s face with the ball as he lost the grab to convert. The coaching staff and players were next to him a moment later as they knew he just got hurt on the already injured part.
