“He only got arrested for throwing some little white guys out of a window”: John Salley defends Charles Barkley from former teammate Scottie Pippen’s soft take regarding fights

John Salley has been a real and honest one as a video resurfaced on the internet where he is defending Charles Barkley against a take of his former teammate Scottie Pippen. They were teammates during the 1996 Bulls and won the championship together. Scottie Pippen in his career won six championships playing alongside Michael Jordan. While John Salley won four and became the first player to win three championships with three different franchises in three different decades. But unfortunately, Charles Barkley has none registered to his name but is surely a great player and legend of the game.

Scottie Pippen and Charles Barkley have been going against each other for some years as they constantly keep firing shots against each other. With the release of Scottie Pippen’s new book “Unguarded”, his relationships with many of his long-time friends alongside whom he has made himself a legacy and has had the best time of his career are in danger as even Sir Charles quoted the same. A year ago Scottie Pippen indirectly called Charles Barkley soft for his fighting tendencies as he quoted: “I wish he woulda went through with it. I never apologized to him, but I’ll tell you what… He only got arrested for throwing some little white guys out of a window.” But John Salley giving it a new direction came up with a different take.

John Salley knows both the players well as he has spent some time either with or against them on the basketball court and has also been in many conversations. So being a real and honest one he defended both the sides while clearing what was really said and meant between the two. John Salley does make it simple and easy for everyone but many aren’t aware of it as the other two went on to be rivals with multiple back and forth takes.

John Salley on Charles Barkley after Scottie Pippen’s take on his fights

John Salley appeared on Vlad TV to discuss the moment and started with clearing it out as Scottie Pippen said: “I ain’t never seen him fight a black man unless there were referees around. He plays his role like he’s tough. I don’t know nobody he done whooped. Go back and check his record. Did I apologize to him? I told him to get me the hell out of there. That’s what I recall.” Speaking on and discussing the take of Bulls’ star John Salley quoted: “I am glad Charles didn’t whoop no black guy and it shouldn’t have been a thing to look forward and mention right and beating another black guy kind of a strange comment. So what he’s trying to say is he only had fights with people he knew he could beat. Smart man.”

Further discussing the exact take John Salley said: “The reason why he got thrown through the plane glass window in Orlando was because he stepped in Charles’ way. Charles got him out of the way. He just happened to go through the plane glass window.” Then he took on to Scottie Pippen and quoted: “Once again, it’s going after people or saying things down the line. I think it’s anger that hasn’t been dealt with. Scotty has a bunch of issues. He was among the top 50 players. A lot of players didn’t think he should be in there. Scotty was known as the wouldn’t have been there if Michael Jordan wouldn’t have been there and vice versa. I think batman needed robin and it was an important union and Scottie is an unbelievable player.”

John Salley respected everyone involved and didn’t hurt anyone’s feelings while also mentioning that he believes Scottie should have been on the 50 list.
