John Wall reveals why NBA today is ‘hard to watch’: “Nobody is playing defense”

This season, the NBA has seen some incredible high-scoring games, which has kept the season on track to become the season with the highest average points scored.

This season has teams averaging 114.7 points per game, which is the same as the 2022-2023 season, and the season isn’t over yet.

This has led people, including former players, to comment on what they perceive as bad defense in the league—not forgetting one who blamed the European players as the cause of the problem.

The league has seen more three-point shots than ever, thanks to the Steph Curry revolution, which has made it harder to defend, except for a few already showing DPOY potential.

John Wall, who last played for the Los Angeles Clippers, has joined the growing list of voices dissatisfied with the defensive lapses in the league. He made this known when appearing on “The OGs Show.”

The game just changed so much, that it’s hard to watch. It’s hard to watch because nobody is playing defense. It’s a lot of shots.

The last time the league witnessed a higher number of average points scored per game was in the 1960s and 1970s. And with the way teams and individual players are chasing and breaking scoring records, it’s only a matter of time before this season takes its place and incurs the wrath of the pro-defensive style of play fans.

Wall wants back in as he eyes up the Miami Heat

John Wall surely misses the NBA, even though he despises the current style of play. He said he still wants to compete for the Miami Heat while speaking on “The OGs Show.”

(I) just feel like I can help them (Miami Heat) a lot. I think getting Terry (Rozier) was a great piece for them. Somebody that can make plays in pick-and-roll for them and stuff. But even if I didn't start, coming off the bench, I think I could be another person to help them.

He also shared that he works out with Miami Heat Bam Adebayo. With that being said, it doesn’t seem like the Heat or any team is willing to take him up on his offer.

Before joining the league, Wall was a highly-rated player, drafted with the number one pick during the 2010 draft, but has had his fair share of bad luck with injuries. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2022–23 season, averaging 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game.
