Joy Taylor shuts down GOAT debate involving Steph Curry, Lakers take Game 1 lead in playoff series

Joy Taylor DISAPPROVES “Steph Curry is better than Michael Jordan” debate under any circumstances

Joy Taylor, the host of Fox Sports, has made it obvious that she won’t participate in a discussion regarding whether Steph Curry or Michael Jordan is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT). After Curry’s incredible 50-point performance in Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings, the panel on “Speak” evaluated where Curry stands among the all-time greats.

However, Taylor rolled her eyes and intervened, saying, “We’re not going to have Steph Curry-better-than-Michael Jordan conversations. No one is entertaining that conversation.” She explained that entire shows are already devoted to comparing LeBron James to Jordan and that she doesn’t want to throw Curry in the mix.

Taylor also ordered everyone to relax and acknowledged that the Lakers-Warriors series would be important for both James’ and Curry’s legacies. However, she reminded her co-stars that the Warriors are the defending champions who still have the core of their dynasty on the roster and Steve Kerr as head coach.

“We’re still debating whether Steph Curry has passed Magic Johnson — and we once debated whether Magic Johnson is better than Michael Jordan,” she said. Taylor emphasized that she loves watching Curry play basketball, but the GOAT conversation is not something she’s willing to entertain.

The Los Angeles Lakers took a 1-0 series lead against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals matchup, winning 117-112 in Game 1. Lakers’ star Anthony Davis was the standout player, scoring 30 points, 23 rebounds, and five assists. Davis became the first Laker since Shaquille O’Neal in 2004 to register a 30-20 game in the playoffs.

The Warriors were led by Steph Curry, who had a solid performance, scoring 27 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out three assists. Klay Thompson contributed 25 points, and Jordan Poole scored 21 points off the bench. However, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory for the Warriors.

The series will be a crucial one for both James and Curry’s legacies, with the winner potentially moving on to the Western Conference Finals and having a shot at the NBA championship.

Game 2 of the Lakers-Warriors series will take place on Thursday night, with both teams looking to gain an advantage in what is shaping up to be an exciting and intense playoff series.
