“Name one that’s better than me” JR Smith calls out Adam Silver, NBA for jeopardising his hoop career
JR Smith
Ex-NBA player JR Smith recently blamed NBA commissioner Adam Silver and the whole NBA league for jeopardizing his NBA career. He also mentioned a few names like Jamal Crawford, Isaiah Thomas, Nick Young and Joe Johnson along with him who could possibly still be playing in the league hadn’t they been ‘blackballed’ from it. Currently the 36-year-old player is a student-athlete on North Carolina A&T’s golf team. He also believes that there are some conspiracies going on behind his back which is refraining him to enter the NBA league again.
When Smith was asked about this career-marring incident, he replied confidently saying, “Yeah, a hundred percent…Anybody can sit here and tell you that that’s a fact. You got those 30 teams. So the Top 3 people on each 30 team and exclude them. Give me the four through 15th men. Just the four through 15th. Name one of them that’s better than me.” He added, “I’ve worked out with these dudes. I’ve watched their GM come to me and ask me, ‘Why are you not playing?’ You know why I’m not playing.”
He further added, “I feel like it’s a whole genre that that happened to,” Smith said. “The Joe Johnson’s who obviously still got game, still can play. Jamal Crawford, still got game, still can play. Nick Young, still got game, still can play. Isaiah Thomas, still got game, still can play…” The response of Smith in the interview has put everyone in a puzzle and it can be difficult to say how much is the truth in it.
Jr Smith’s NBA career
Jr Smith entered the NBA out of high school after being selected in the first round of the 2004 NBA draft with the 18th overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans. He has also played for the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks, as well as for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association. Smith won two NBA Championships, with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. His career averaged 12.4 shooting points, 2.1 assists, and 3.1 total rebounds and yeah, he deserves to be back in the league but that’s just not happening.
