“I’m the leading scorer and just knocked single 3-pointer” Kareem Abdul Jabbar throws shade at modern-day NBA players

Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Kareem Abdul Jabbar is without doubt one of the best players ever to set a foot on the basketball court. He isn’t remembered by many during the G.O.A.T debate as the media coverage and hype back then was comparatively very low than what it is today. But a real fan of the game who knows ball will never disagree with him being in the conversation. As he was an expert on both the ends who was capable of getting the job done and outshining the rivals. Many know him for his signature shot “Skyhook” which isn’t that easy to master. But Kareem Abdul Jabbar clearly owned it and dominated the paint by acing every opportunity he had with the ball being with him. His offensive greats are still untouched as it isn’t easy to chase down the records he holds.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar has one of the best resumes in league’s history. As he has been to 10 NBA Finals and won six of them, has six MVP awards and has two FMVPs. In the 20 seasons he played in the league he has been selected for the All-Star game 19 times and has multiple scoring titles, was leading the league in blocks on multiple occasions and the list just goes on. So it’s very clear to say that his legacy won’t be that easy to be taken down by any modern NBA superstar even though LeBron James is pretty close. He’s an All-Time great and we will probably never see another player like him in the near future. As the game has changed a lot and the fundamentals are getting washed away.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar recently appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and there he discussed the modern-day league, Warriors championship run, and how the game has evolved throughout the time. He also warned Stephen Curry that he’s coming for his records while they discussed the how the three-pointer league has been draining since the past years.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar reflects on the changed game while mentioning his first and only three-pointer

Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the leading scorer in the NBA as he has 38,387 points and he has taken 28,307 shots to get those down. But throughout his career, he only attempted 18 three-pointers and has swished only one of them. At the show while discussing the three-pointers and how Stephen Curry was raining them. Kareem Abdul Jabbar came up with an all-time ultimate statement as he quoted: “Earlier on, you might get ten three-point shots in the game. Now, it’s ten-twenty three-point shots in a quarter. It seems like it’s a three-point shooting contest. People enjoy it, and you know they should. I am still the All-Time leading scorer in the NBA, and I only made one three-point shot…just one 1986 it was an accident.”
Kareem Abdul Jabbar didn’t stop there as after watching the video of his first and only three-pointer he said: “2099 and I am gonna be catching Stephen Curry… I am really close to him.” Of course, that was a joke by the tower from power as he already got the laugh by showing out the world how he’s one of the greatest scorers in the league history and hasn’t even made multiple three-pointers. Something you won’t expect in today’s era. As the Chef has really changed and influenced the game at a higher level.
