Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard is contemplating a stint with Team USA for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, as reported by Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points. Recently Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant also said that they were interested in representing Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The speculation arises after Leonard expressed interest in representing the USA at the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, although he couldn’t participate due to prior commitments and obligation.

Recently in the NBA media day Leonard was asked if he wants to represent his country in the 2024 Paris Olympics to which he replied, “Yeah, I wanted to play this summer, but I had other obligations. I would’ve had to leave early, so I wasn’t able to go. We’ll see what happens.”

If everything goes according to plan, then there is a huge chance that we might see Leonard team up with other NBA superstars like James and Curry in the 2024 Olympics in Paris as both of the players voiced their intent to don the Team USA jersey at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Team USA’s lackluster performance at the World Cup, finishing fourth after defeats against Germany and Canada, highlighted the need for potential roster reinforcements. And since team USA has a strong track record in the Olympics, clinching four consecutive gold medals. Leonard’s potential addition could significantly enhance the team’s confidence and odds to win their fifth consecutive gold.

Kawhi Leonard Strongly Objects to NBA’s Recent Load Management regulation

Los Angeles Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard has recently expressed his disappointment with the NBA’s recent enactment of load management regulations, particularly restricting the simultaneous rest of two star players.

Leonard, known for his careful game management, expressed his dissatisfaction with the policy. In response to the league’s attempt to encourage more games from players like him, Leonard voiced his skepticism, emphasizing that no policy could dictate his playing time.

During Clippers’ media day, Leonard said, “If the league is trying to mock what I did with the Raptors, it should stop, because I was injured during that whole year… I work out every day in the summertime to play the game, not to sit out and watch others play. No league policy is helping me to play more games.”

While Leonard perceived the policy as targeted at him, the broader league objective is to ensure active engagement of star players. Despite his objections, the rules remain a part of the NBA’s strategy to maintain the involvement of star players, acknowledging their significant influence on team performance and fan interest.
