Kendrick Perkins believes LA Clippers have the most depth around perimeter to win the 2023 Championship
La Clippers and Kendrick Perkins
Ever since Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were acquired by the Los Angeles Clippers in the aftermath of the 2018 season. The resounding Clippers were touted to become the champions in the following seasons but much to the fans’ dismay the pair have played fewer than 100 games together as they’ve spent more time on the bench rather than on the court playing crucial games. Paul George has played 139 games for the clippers whereas Kawhi Leonard as played a total of 109 games.
Undoubtedly the Clippers are no longer the same title contenders they once hoped to be and an obvious reason is the lack of superstars in the roster. Although the Clippers were successful in acquiring the services of John Wall , it should be noted he has appeared only In 40 games over last 3 seasons but as per reports he said to have been working very hard this offseason and could be the missing key that the Clippers so desperately hope to find and while fans may have lost hopes with the team NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins still believes the team has what it takes to win it all
Kendrick Perkins on LA Clippers’ title hopes
According to NBA expert Kendrick Perkins, the La Clippers are capable of winning the title. Perkins was questioned if the LA Clippers might win it all this year by Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson. Perkins responded “Hell yeah! They actually my favorite to win it all. I’m telling you that right now. The Los Angeles Clippers are my favorite to win it all. They’re stacked at the most important position in the NBA. No other team has the depth like the Los Angeles Clippers at the wing position and has two-way players like the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum, Norman Powell. That’s five guys at the perimeter position.”
Perkins continued “You looking at Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. We know what they can give you offensively. Norman Powell proved that he can average 20 in this league. Now, look at the other end, defense. Nicolas Batum, 6-9, versatile defender. Paul George, versatile defender, can guard the guard and wings. Kawhi, we already know what type of savage he is defensively. Robert Covington, a defender. … I’m forgetting Marcus Morris. They still got him. A ruff rider who not backing down from nobody.”
Perkins’ words are intriguing, since it remains to be seen if the squad will be able to compete while remaining healthy. The one healthy season they had with Leonard and George resulted in a defeat in the Western Conference playoffs. The LA Clippers wasted a three-point lead over the Denver Nuggets.
