NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins believes that the Brooklyn Nets should let go of their star player Kyrie Irving after this season ends. Perkins also believes that Kyrie is no more to fit for the team. He also feels that the point guard is gathering a lot of unnecessary drama with his off-court antics.

Kendrick Perkins was talking on the ‘NBA Countdown,’ where he quoted, “So if I’m the Brooklyn Nets you might have to ride it out for this season but unless Kyrie Irving changes, which I don’t think he is or to help you deliver a championship you let him ride out the season and then you have to move on from him.”

Kendrick earlier added, “What happened is now all of a sudden it’s bringing unnecessary attention to the team is being a distraction, and now all of a sudden it’s putting pressure on the front office and the ownership group to actually do something about it.” Kyrie’s tweet in support of an antisemitic film has caused a stir in the NBA world.

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving will make a $500,000 donation to groups working to eradicate hate after admitting on Wednesday that he supported a film having antisemitic content on social media that had a negative impact on the Jewish community. Irving took up the center of the firestorm of controversy last week after he posted a link to the 2018 film ‘Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America’ on social media.

A joint statement released by Irving, the Nets and the Anti-Defamation League revealed that Irving and Brooklyn would each give $500,000 to anti-hate groups following the controversy. Jonathan Greenblatt, chief executive of the Anti-Defamation League welcomed the gesture. The statement said the $1 million donated would be channeled towards ‘causes and organizations that work to eradicate hate and intolerance in our communities.’

These are challenging times for the Brooklyn Nets as they have already sacked their head coach Steve Nash. It is rumored that they might hire suspended Celtics coach Ime Udoka for this role. The Nets’ fans are also very frustrated and turned off following the drama that has been taking place in the Nets camp. The whole off-court fiasco has also taken a toll on the Nets’ team on the floor as they are losing matches back to back.
