“My apologies my brother,” Kendrick Perkins humbled down after Serge Ibaka blasts him for spreading misinformation
Kendrick Perkins is a great commentator and makes good entertainment for the sports world to feast upon. Big Perk was an above average player and certainly had this moments of stardom, but his television career has been a bigger hit some might argue. However, sometimes the biggest commentators get caught for what they don’t necessarily mean.
This is exactly what happened to Kendrick Perkins who jokingly accused his former teammates, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and even Serge Ibaka for lying about their age. Although this is nearly impossible to pull off, Perk only meant it as a joke. He appeared on ESPN’s First Take saying, “Everybody kept saying, ‘Oh, Kevin Durant is only 23 years of age. Russell Westbrook is only 22, James Harden is 22, Serge Ibaka is 21—although he was probably 30 at the time because we already know how certain individuals lie about their age.”

Serge Ibaka claps back at Kendrick Perkins for spreading disinformation about his age, the analyst apologizes
Serge Ibaka took major offense to what Kendrick Perkins had said about his age. The two former teammate played together with the Oklahoma City Thunder. They both played vital roles in the success of the team. Ibaka felt hurt that Perkins would say something offensive towards his age.
Ibaka tweeted, “It’s disappointing to hear someone I shared a locker room with spreading misinformation to be relevant and get views on TV and social media.” He also added, “If I was 30 in OKC I guess I am 45 now? The truth is I never lied about my age and I work extremely hard everyday without cheating and I have never been suspended. Everyone in the league knows that. You cheated and didn’t respect the game.”
Kendrick Perkins immediately felt the need to apologize for what he had said. He replied to Ibaka on Twitter as well. He said,“Hey @sergeibaka my bad homie if I offended you. It’s was a joke! My bad if it made you feel some type of way!!! My apologies my brother.”
But there was one thing that did not strike Perkins well. Ibaka had pointed out something that threw shade at Perk’s habit of playing dirty while he was at the NBA. The former player said, “Did you say spreading lies at @sergeibaka ? Please don’t get me started homie!!!! Please don’t. I’m not about to talk about those OKC days and what you were doing in that locker room. I will not… but you definitely need to stop because you know I KNOW!!!! Carry on tho…”
