“His career could end just like how Allen Iverson’s did” Kendrick Perkins issues warning to Russell Westbrook to be extremely careful next season

Kendrick Perkins is back in the NBA headlines as he recently took a shot at Russell Westbrook just like every other analyst in the league right now. The future for Brodie with or without the Los Angeles Lakers is still very uncertain. As if he decides to part ways, it’s all gone and we’ll never know the real potential of the Big Three the Lakers got. But if he decides to stay, still nothing can be said about his new role under Head Coach Darvin Ham. Though there are rumors of him starting games as a support player and there are also rumors of him not agreeing with it. All this has now sparked up since Russell Westbrook and his long-time trusted agent parted ways last week due to some decisional issues regarding the guard’s future in the league. Kendrick Perkins though has brought Allen Iverson into the conversation as he believes it may end the same for Mr. Triple Double too.
Kendrick Perkins started his take believing in the Lakers as so far they have decided to stay committed to each other and quoted: “I do believe it will work…I believe that Darvin Ham could put these guys in a position to be successful and especially Russell Westbrook. And here’s another thing about Russell Westbrook. He has to be very very careful of how he approaches this season and how he finishes this season. Because Russell Westbrook perhaps could go from being one of the top paid guys in the NBA to our the NBA… So he has to buy in and take a lesser role this season and flourish well in it.”
Kendrick Perkins isn’t all wrong with his words but him getting a lesser role after being scapegoated doesn’t make sense to many around. Even Russell Westbrook disagrees with it and fired his agent because of this particular reason. As he wanted Brodie to stick with the role the Lakers are giving him. Kendrick Perkins though not just criticized Brodie but also added another completely different take to it.

Kendrick Perkins speaking about the lesser role on the table and Russell Westbrook disagreeing to accept it quoted: “For him to be the Russell Westbrook he thinks he is and get the ball and the keys to the organization. There’s only one team that came to mind the San Antonio Spurs. A team that has low expectations. So when I think about Russell Westbrook. I am thinking along the line up there that if he’s not careful his career could possibly end like Allen Iverson’s career did. We all know that Allen Iverson…”
Kendrick Perkins is right with his justification. As not accepting the lesser role will just open the exit door for Russell Westbrook as he is out of options now, and that’s exactly what happened with Allen Iverson back in his days or else easily he had more than 5 years in his books. Russ now really has to make up his mind and do what’s best for him and his future or else we may soon spectate another star’s downfall who wasn’t really at the wrong end but was just unfortunate and had a bad form maintained due to many other reasons too. This coming season is probably going to be the most important season of Brodies’ career as he’ll get the opportunity to revenge everyone doubting and hating on him.
