“I’m actually working on getting my relationship back with one of my brothers”:  Kendrick Perkins reveals how Russell Westbrook stopped talking to him after he suggested Lakers to trade Brodie

Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins

Kendrick Perkins and Russell Westbrook have made it to the headlines as they aren’t on good terms since Big Perk unintentionally insulted Brodie by suggesting the Lakers to trade him away. Kendrick Perkins is a former NBA player who now is a host at ESPN’s First Take and also a player analyst for the same company. He is also a former teammate of Los Angeles Lakers’ all-star point guard Russell Westbrook as they both played for Oklahoma City Thunder and had a great relationship between them since then. But now it seems that things aren’t the same no more and the brotherly relationship is ruined because of a suggestion and answer to a question.

Russell Westbrook has been the most criticized and trolled player this season. As he joined the Los Angeles Lakers after LeBron James and Anthony Davis recruited him to L.A. But he never got it right with the team as he was never able to fix his chemistry issues with players and now-fired head coach Frank Vogel. He was also not able to hoop like Mr. Triple Double and even complained about not having the ball with him for a satisfactory time during the Exit interviews. He was also scapegoated by the franchise for their terrible season even though he isn’t the right person to throw the blame on. Kendrick Perkins was there for him throughout this unfortunate stretch but in the end, it’s all ruined.

Kendrick Perkins was riding Russell Westbrook’s bus most of the time during the season even though he ended on a critical note he made sure he is making sense and has rightfully quoted out what he wants to. But recently, when he was asked who should be traded out of the Big three of the Los Angeles Lakers, he replied Russell Westbrook and it was enough for Brodie to stop communicating with the analyst as he didn’t find it right after years of brotherhood.

Kendrick Perkins recently revealed that Russell Westbrook is not communicating with him and quoted: “I’m actually working on getting my relationship back with one of my brothers who was very, very upset in Russell Westbrook,” he said. “I’ve defended Russell Westbrook for years, and this year, he struggled. And it was a topic that came up on ‘First Take,’ and they asked, they said, ‘Out of the Big 3 that’s in with the Lakers, which one would you trade?’ Now, you’re not going to trade LeBron James, okay? Let’s be realistic. You’re not going to trade Anthony Davis. Let’s be real about that. So, the person who’s left to answer the question is, for me, was Russell Westbrook. Now, I don’t make up the topics. That’s the first thing people have to realize. … I said it, and it hurt me, though…”

Kendrick Perkins has also mentioned how Nina Westbrook reached out to his wife with a long text message explaining how what he said was wrong and why. He even responded back but has got no replies yet. When he was talking about the family not being around Brodie during his days at Wizards he mentioned that he earns a lot so why not shift them there. This can probably just hurt Russell Westbrook more and not end the situation but we can just hope for the best between the two as they were long-time brother-like friends and teammates.
