“Who are you again?” Kevin Durant fires back at haters ending all claims of a ‘FAILED’ escape attempt from Brooklyn
Kevin Durant and Jordan Hicks
NBA star Kevin Durant’s trade rumors have been put to rest, with the latter agreeing to stay back and continuing with Brooklyn Nets for the 2022-2023 season. This news has only been recently assured of, and Kevin Durant was seen practicing with his fellow teammate and best friend Kyrie Irving in Los Angeles ahead of the season. Things seemed to have cooled down between the Nets management and the player as of now but still there can be a lot of uncertainty with the team combination and setup.
American Sports Journalist Shams Charania tweeted on this matter and confirmed that Kevin Durant and Nets management have decided to continue their partnership. Within a few hours after the tweet, NBA fans voiced their opinions on this matter. Journalist Jordan Hicks was among these to tweet, but his tweet seemed to have poked right in the face of Kevin. To which Kevin smartly replied and denied knowing any Jordan Hicks. He also doesn’t feel that he is answerable to anyone.
Reportedly Kevin had met Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai, and the star player made him a final offer to trade him or fire Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash and General Manager Sean Marks. But Joe Tsai declined the same, and Kevin was caught in a fix. With four years left in the contract and no player option available, Kevin will have to continue with the Nets against his wish.
Can Kevin Durant and Brooklyn Nets combine for a title win?
Now that Kevin Durant has agreed to stay with the Nets for the 2022-2023 season, things don’t seem that smooth between them. Kevin wanted a change in the Brooklyn Nets management. Still, the owners refused to accept his demand, due to which he decided to enforce trade and was unsuccessful in finding a new team for himself and will now have to continue until the contract expires.
The question now lies ahead: this whole fiasco might have drawn a line between the management and the star player, and this is not something that will benefit the team. With the season soon to begin, only time will tell whether the beef is healed up or this will result in Brooklyn Nets having a disastrous season.
