It’s a reunion for Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets, and it seems all the spotlight will be on Kevin himself. The Power Forward, who spent 4 years at the Nets, didn’t really go as expected from everyone. With injuries, out of form and off-court shenanigans, it was a part of his career for him to forget. But it seems his ex-team had an idea of making a tribute video for KD. And it seems he wasn’t the keenest on it.
The 14-time All-Star who played for the Nets for three seasons filled with ups and downs, made the Nets fans feel that he should get a tribute video to show him their love and support. But Durant didn’t quite like the idea.
Durant said about the idea of the tribute video, during an interaction with the reporters:
What did I do to deserve that? Seriously, or is it because of my name? I didn’t feel like I stayed there long enough. I didn’t put in enough work. I didn’t leave a lasting impact. Me and the fans didn’t connect enough for me to feel like a part of them.Kevin Durant said
The two-time back-to-back NBA Champions with the Golden State Warriors didn’t have the best of moments in the black and white of Brooklyn Nets. And fans eagerly await his return; it would be interesting to see how the reception would be.
Fans react to Kevin Durant’s brutal honesty on his tribute video
After his words on the tribute video went onto the internet, fans couldn’t help but give their side of the story. And for some, it was a moment to give him the flashbacks of his Nets days. Either way, the tweet has garnished a lot of surprised eyes.
While everyone waits for his return, fans have gone berserk on the internet on his words.
The stage is set, and it would be a roaring welcome for the former Brooklyn Nets star. But what will the reception be like, especially after the comment? We know the withered relationship between these two sides, but maybe, just maybe, there could be some room for application upon his return.
