“Once the ball is tipped, all the bullsh*t goes out the window” Kevin Durant gets honest on winning against Hornets amid Kyrie Irving, Nets drama
Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets are in a really messed-up situation at the moment. As Kyrie Irving’s unnecessary off-court antics have caused them a lot of trouble. And, with the Nets suspending Kyrie Irving now KD is all alone and has to carry the team single-handedly. Kevin Durant though has been doing a brilliant job while leading the Nets ahead but even he’s done with the drama as he said in the post-game interview.
The Charlotte Hornets recently hosted the Brooklyn Nets at Spectrum Center and after a closely contested and head-to-head game, the Nets came out on the winning end. The final box score stands at 94-98. Kevin Durant gets a lot of credit for the win as his fourth quarter greats and leadership got the job done. The Nets really ran some great plays in the final minutes and KD came up in the clutch claiming the win for his team.
Kevin Durant in the game had 27 points, 2 assists and 7 rebounds he also played some solid defense. But the team missed on Kyrie as he stands suspended due to his very own unnecessary off-court antics. It wouldn’t have been a close game if they had the services of their talented guard. But he is suspended for five games and now the Nets have given him six requirements to meet if he plans to return.
The Nets though have won two games straight without Kyrie Irving and are looking really good. But he’ll just make them better and unfortunately, right now his controversial actions are just making things worse for the team. As the head coach is out and the locker room energy is also not that good. Kevin Durant though knows what is to be done as he stated after the dub against the Hornets.
Kevin Durant’s brutally honest take on the ongoing drama around Kyrie Irving and the Nets
After the game, Kevin Durant talking about the win and the unreal week the team has been through quoted: “I just think we rallied around each other. It was a tough week for us. And it’s always good to just get back to the game. Once the ball is tipped all the b—s— goes out the window.”
Further, addressing the 4-6 record Kevin Durant added: “Everybody was just waiting to get back to playing. We also lost three or four games before that, so we just felt some pride and wanted to come out here and get some W’s. So it’s good for our character.”
KD is really done with the unnecessary off-court stuff around the Nets and is completely focused on balling out. It’s high time for the Nets to make the situation better or else they’ll end up wasting another year of Kevin Durant’s prime as nothing about Kyrie Irving’s future can be claimed or predicted at the moment. His actions can get him banned anytime if he continues to do so. As of now, he is the most controversial player in the league and making all the bad headlines with fans hating on him for all his actions.
