“Give them some sh*t about being a Knicks fan” Kevin Durant reveals reason behind BOOING Knicks fans before the battle of New York

Kevin Durant

As Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets defeated the New York Knicks in the Battle of the Boroughs on Wednesday night, put on a stellar performance for the audience at Barclays Center. Prior to the game, Durant got into some entertaining exchange with some kids who were donning Knicks apparel and it was hilarious as it could get.

Due to the early season controversy that has spilled into the regular season and the Nets’ difficulty coping with their internal issues, the franchise has been in shambles this season. However, Brooklyn’s stunning triumph over their crosstown rivals gave them their fifth win of the year and the third in five games under new head coach Jacque Vaughn. As usual, Kevin Durant put on an incredible show, leading the Nets in scoring and recording a triple-double. His confrontation with the Knicks supporters was one of his many highlighted game moments.

In todays Nets vs Knicks clash, KD had identified a few young Knicks fans at the shootaround just before the game. Then, the former Finals MVP started to boo the kids for wearing Knicks jerseys, and we could see the joy on his face as he did so. In the post-game interview, he responded to the question regarding  the incident where he stated: “If I see a Knicks fan I’m always gonna throw them some thumbs down or just give them some sh*t about being a Knicks fan.”

Kevin Durant seals the deal for the Nets in their win over the Knicks

After hiring Jacque Vaughn as their head coach on Wednesday night, the Brooklyn Nets destroyed the Knicks 112-85 behind Kevin Durant’s 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists. Durant defeated the Knicks for the 13th consecutive game, and in the previous two, he had triple-doubles. The Nets elected to stick with Vaughn after watching him show indications of improvement since taking over for Steve Nash in which Seth Curry added a season-high 23 points and Edmond Sumner made his fourth consecutive start tallying 18 points.

For the Knicks, who were coming off a strong showing in Minnesota on Monday but trailed by as many as 35 points in this one, Julius Randle had 24 points and 11 rebounds. They were also powered by RJ Barret’s 16 points and Jalen Brunson’s 14 points on 4 of 14 shooting. Cam Reddish’s scoreless performance where he started the game and shot 0 of 7 was a depleting end for them. Their record now stands at 5-6 for the year, despite their young players’ outstanding efforts in these 11 games.

Durant carrying the Nets without Kyrie Irving

The Nets have undoubtedly improved now that Jacque Vaughn is the team’s head coach. The group is still dealing with some difficulties, meanwhile, since Kyrie Irving has become a major problem. Irving is in a challenging situation where he needs to recoup his standing with the NBA due to the recent scandals that have surrounded the superstar. Kevin Durant will have to manage this squad alone once more because there is no sign or indication of when Kyrie Irving will rejoin them following his suspension.

With the lineup supporting him, Kevin Durant could not be able to maintain his current 30 points per game, although he doesn’t have to. He can be assisted through other scorers, and players like Ben Simmons ought to be more active on the floor. The Brooklyn Nets improved to 5-7 on the season after recording a significant victory and they may be about to save their season as they steadily move up the Eastern Conference.
