“I’m not here to babysit anyone” Kevin Durant wants Ben Simmons to adapt a more aggressive style of play for Nets

Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets has devised a method to keep teammate Ben Simmons inspired for this season. With Simmons having an important part in determining Brooklyn’s success, Durant assumed the position of a leader to ensure his teammate remains focused. Simmons is largely considered one of the NBA’s most brilliant players. Given his stature, quickness, and talent, the Brooklyn Nets are in a very good position with him on the team. Ben Simmons had an eventful season last year. The Australian guard was part of the largest transaction of the NBA season 2021-2022.

Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets after six seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for James Harden. To say the least, it was a game-changer. However, the 6’11” guard did not play at all that season and is just now making his return. His new teammate, Kevin Durant, has given him some much-needed counsel. Kevin Durant appearing in an interview shared how he’s inspired Simmons for the new season, he said “Trust in him, pass him the ball, tell him to be aggressive. I’m not here to babysit anybody. Ben knows that. If he’s got time to be aggressive go be aggressive. Who gives a sh*t if you miss it? We like you being aggressive.”

The 2022-2023 NBA season is around the corner with the regular season starting on 19th October where the lakers will face the reigning Warriors and Celtics would face the 76ers, and one club to keep an eye on is the Brooklyn Nets. Their new core of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and Ben Simmons will undoubtedly cause havoc. Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have a lot to prove this season after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last year. While the Nets had a turbulent summer, they are currently in a position to challenge for the championship.

Ben Simmons’ active presence has sweetened the comeback of Brooklyn’s great combo. With the newest additions to their squad, the Nets appear to be a competitive team. However, Simmons will continue to play a significant part in determining their success. He is a rim protector and playmaker who is anticipated to make rushes to the basket. At this stage, it is largely assumed that Simmons will play a defensive role in the unit. While his playmaking abilities have a lot of potentials, Simmons is also an important part of defense who can guard at any position.
