“You was supposed to pay homage!” Kevin Garnett goes on PASSIONATE rant after NBA not stopping game for LeBron James’ 40,000 point achievement

LeBron James became the first player in the league to score 40,000 points in the 124-114 loss against the Denver Nuggets. However, in what appeared to be a historic moment, an NBA legend didn’t believe the right thing was done to honor one of the league’s greats, if not the greatest.

The legend, Kevin Garnett, who had 21 remarkable seasons in the NBA, wasn’t pleased with how the league and the Los Angeles Lakers honored the history-making moment.

Furthermore, it should be noted that when Michael Jordan crossed the 30,000-point mark, he was honored in the most special way by the league and his then-team, the Washington Wizards.

KG made his feelings known during a “KG Certified” episode for Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson’s All the Smoke Productions. He wanted the game to be stopped to celebrate a moment that could only happen once.

You were supposed to stop the game. You were supposed to pay homage. We never. Nobody, nobody, nobody. Nobody's ever seen 40.

LeBron James has continued to be a revelation in the league, breaking and creating new records. His journey to 40,000 points has been remarkable, slow, and steady because his game style involves a pass-first approach. At 39 and in his 21st season, LeBron James deserved a better reception in his honor.

LeBron James sits out during Lakers’ win over Milwaukee Bucks due to injury

LeBron James missed his ninth game of the season as he was on the injury list for the Lakers in their close 123-122 home win against the Milwaukee Bucks.

He was withdrawn before the game ended during the Lakers’ last game against the Sacramento Kings. Before the game, Coach David Ham talked about James’ absence.

Just experiencing some severe soreness, and we decided not to have him play tonight. See how he feels tomorrow. It’s something you’ve got to be aware of and constantly monitor. It’s the reality of a long NBA season and an extremely long career.

In his absence, the Lakers beat the odds to defeat the Eastern Conference’s second-seeded team, with D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis stepping up adequately.

The Lakers would hope that the injury prognosis wouldn’t be bad, as they’d need all their players fit and available to mount a run for the postseason. LeBron James this season is averaging 25.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game.
