The Golden State Warriors organize an annual game with the San Quentin Warriors, the basketball team of San Quentin State Prison. They are one of the most infamous prisons in the country. It’s a win-win situation for the Warriors, as one of the Warriors teams always wins. This game was recently played for the ninth time. The head-to-head record favors the Golden State team with five wins and the San Quentin team with three wins.

The Warriors team does not play Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and others, but they have the coaching and support staff of the Dubs. They play against the prison team, with their stars supporting them from the sidelines. Klay and Chris Paul joined the sidelines this year and talked about their experience watching the game.

The Warriors players talked about what they learned from their experience visiting the prison, and they reflected that it was one of the most enriching experiences, listening to the stories of the men trying to improve their future. The inmates were also fans and enjoyed meeting and sharing the court with their favorite players.

Paul joining the Warriors for their visit to the prison further helped them integrate the 38-year-old into their system. They hope to hit it off from the start and make their way to their fifth championship.
