Klay Thompson is probably the weapon that will have to bring down the Boston Celtics during the NBA finals this season. The player is making his first appearance in 2019 after succumbing to two major injuries. He was expected to play during the last season but he tore his ACL before it had started which delayed his return.

Thompson was a big reason why the Golden State Warriors have reached the point they have. He has been very important on offense when in need. He had a 30-point night against the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6 to qualify for the Western Conference Semifinals and once against helped the Warriors close out Game 5 versus the Dallas Mavericks with 32 points. Not only will his presence matter to his team but he could also potentially win the Finals MVP award as well.

Klay Thompson opened up about his return to NBA Finals during the media day ahead of Game 1. “Life comes full circle, now being able to play in the Finals. I watched them in college, Game 7 at Staples with my dad in 2010. And now its 12 years later, and I get to play the team that I was rooting against.” said Klay.

“It’s amazing. In my rookie year, just playing that team of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and KG was like a ‘welcome to the NBA’ moment for me because just a couple of years before, I was watching them battle Kobe and Pau in the Finals, and I was just mesmerized by how great those teams were, both the Lakers and the Celtics,” he added. This will definitely be something meaningful to the player as he walks into his sixth finals appearance as a Warrior.
