Klay Thompson has just joined his teammate Stephen Curry only to be trolled by NBA fans on Twitter for outrageous fashion choice. While the 3-Point King hosted the 2022 ESPYs, stars like Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala were witnessed representing the Golden State Warriors. While the splash brothers did end up securing individual accolades, Klay supposedly went overboard with his ‘Aunt’ look.

To those who missed the ceremony on Wednesday, Klay Thompson was honored with Best Comeback Award for making a sensational return after more than 2 years onto the court. While on one hand, on the red carpet, the marquee Warriors’ guard wore a nice suit but NBA Twitter’s attention was fixated on something else. They instead focused on the sunglasses he wore.

Klay Thompson gets called an ‘AUNT’ for ESPYs style 

Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry climbed up a pretty improbable mountain this year. Nobody thought the Golden State Warriors would make a comeback. Journalists had already written off the team before the season had even begun. Both Curry and Klay were riddled with injuries. It seemed like it was the end of the line for Steve Kerr’s Golden State. However, firstly take a look at how NBA fans reacted on it- 

Apart from the fashion police judging Klay Thompson’s outfit, the splash brother went onto pay the highest tribute to Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna during his acceptance speech. He detailed how the ‘Mamba Mentality’ triggered him to get back at his feet as early as he could and represent his beloved team at all costs.

That being said, this could act as a huge boost for Thompson as he now looks to make his first season-start in over 3 years with the Warriors. Will we witness the Golden State Warriors be able to maintain their top spot in the league, especially when the likes of Zion Williamson, Kawhi Leonard are all back? Remains to be seen.
