The Los Angeles Lakers have successfully maintained their 100% home wins record after Game 6. Playing the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers were up 3-2 in the series. With just one win away, fans expected Los Angeles to defend their home court where they were 6-0 in the postseason. After their dominating victory, they have now advanced to the Western Conference Finals. However, despite LA’s phenomenal playoff run, Klay Thompson has been the hot topic of conversation throughout the series.
Klay Thompson has been one of the Warriors‘ prime guards in the last 10 years. He has played for the franchise since he was drafted in 2011. Thompson has been an absolute authoritative force alongside Stephen Curry and has broken many records with his stellar shooting. However, in the 2023 NBA playoffs, he has simply failed to live up to his reputation.
Klay Thompson has averaged 18.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 13 games in the 2023 playoffs. However, his performance in general has been rather poor. He had just one good game in the conference semi-finals, where he scored 30 points. Apart from that, the guard struggled to score over 20 points. Known for his Game 6 performances, Thompson had a rather abysmal shooting record against the Lakers in LA. He went 3-19 from the field goal and 2-12 for three-pointers.

Twitter reacts to Klay Thompson’s poor Game 6 show
Klay Thompson has undoubtedly generated a lot of attention on Twitter and for all the wrong reasons. Following his terrible playoff run, fans have expressed their frustration and displeasure on social media. Many have also turned to jokes and mockery against the guard. One fan compared him to Dillon Brooks saying he would’ve been a better teammate to play with. Here are some fan reactions.
The Golden State Warriors are now out of title contention and have lost the chance to defend their title. Stephen Curry and Co. will go into the off-season with a lot to reflect on. However, they would like to take some time off the game and shake this season off. On the flip side, LeBron James walks into the Western Conference Finals to play the Denver Nuggets. The Los Angeles Lakers will look to get off to a great start against Nikola Jokic and Co. Needless to say, both these teams promise an exciting series. Will Jokic get a chance to win his first NBA ring or will James push for his fifth? Only time will tell which one of these two teams will walk into the NBA Finals.
