Klay Thompson has enough of ’Villain’ Dillon Brooks as he shoves Stephen Curry to the floor in Game 6
Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, collectively known as the splash brothers are the biggest backbones of the Golden State Warriors franchise. The duo has been together since the start of their championship run and through some of the biggest letdowns in their career. Thompson faced a two-year setback from the game after suffering an ACL and Achilles tear back to back.
This season he made his long-awaited debut and helped the Warriors stay afloat while the baby-faced assassin was rehabilitating from an injured arm. The splash brother averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in the regular season. The Warriors have had certain games where they would not be in form on offense but Klay’s contributions always helped them get through.
Klay Thompson tries to defend his brother after a nasty shove by Dillon Brooks
Taking on the Memphis Grizzlies may have been the hardest challenge the Warriors have faced this entire season especially since their young roster is filled with players who can carry a team. The series got a bit too physical after Draymond Green accidentally committed a hard foul. The Grizzlies may have seen it as intended and the atmosphere started to change over the next few games. Dillon Brooks would get caught up in multiple unnecessary physical plays which called for a suspension during Game 3.
During Golden State’s closeout game last night, Brooks once again tried to get physical. As he was going in for a shot in the paint, Curry tried to grab the offensive rebound and regain possession for his team. The Grizzlies star got tangled up with Steph and proceeded with a double hand push to the ground unintentionally hurting Steven Adams in the mix. Klay Thompson tried defending his teammate as the other also retaliated causing the referees to call a double technical on both players.
