It seemed like about time in the second half that Klay Thompson was about to catch fire, but eventually couldn’t as the Boston Celtics brutally dominate the home team 40-16 in the fourth quarter to win Game 1 and take the upper hand in 2022 NBA Finals. With Stephen Curry scoring game-high 34 points, he seemed to have never found any help from any of his teammates on the offensive end.

This led to Klay Thompson coming out to promise that he is bound to improve his scoring rate and numbers in Game 2 as he is confident upon the Golden State Warriors clinching the series with full venom. What more did the splash brother suggest? Take a look below-

It in indeed safe to mention that postseason or playoff adversity is nothing new for Steve Kerr’s Golden State Warriors. They are now in their sixth NBA Finals stint in the past eight years. They have had some colossal battles on their way to winning three titles. Losing Game 1, however, is a rarity for former champions – Golden State Warriors. To those who are not aware what exactly we mean, following their loss to the Al Horford’s Boston Celtics, they are still 21-3 since 2015 when they opened a playoff series.

After Game 2 Thompson said, “We just got to be better… That was a tough loss. Especially the way we did lose.”

That being said, Klay Thompson did go onto knock three 3-pointers in Game 1 at Chase Center, which made his surpass Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for second place in most three-pointers made in the playoffs. Although the splash brother missed a couple of open jumpers. Boston Celtic’s switching defense significantly improved in the fourth quarter, but the Golden State Warriors just couldn’t bury one during Ime Udoka’s team’s backbreaking explosion.

Will we witness Klay Thompson stepping up for the Warriors in Game 2 or is Golden State Warriors going to sink deeper into the grave of NBA Finals? Remains to be seen as the action resumes on Sunday at Chase Center itself.
