“You can’t talk dynasty when you haven’t won before,” Klay Thompson rips apart the Memphis Grizzlies for just talking smack as the Warriors DESTROY them on Christmas

On Christmas, The Memphis Grizzlies entered the game against the Golden State Warriors as the favorites to win the match. What everyone expected to be a lop-sided match in the favor of the Grizzlies turned out to be something else altogether. The Warriors with their depleted squad consisting of Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Jordan Poole managed to defeat a mighty Ja Morant-led Grizzlies.
While the rivalry between the Warriors and Grizzlies is relatively young it is intense nonetheless. Players from both teams have called out their counterparts on various occasions thus creating more animosity between the two franchises. Recently, Dillon Brooks of the Grizzlies fired shots at Klay Thompson. He said, “I got Klay. I like that matchup better because he was talking a little smack when we lost. I’ll just show him what type of defense I got.”
Klay Thompson said nothing at the time these comments were made and after his team had a resounding victory over the visitors he was ready to balance the shots fired. As after getting the last laugh Thompson said, “Man, they [were] talking about dynasty and all that, you can’t talk dynasty when you haven’t won before.”. He added, “I don’t think people realize how hard that is, the commitment and sacrifice it takes. You got to sacrifice your body and I thought that was premature talk to even mention that word.”
At the conclusion of a play, Brooks was mocked by Thompson by bending over him as he moved down the floor. Moments later, as the Chase Center crowd went wild, Thompson was given a technical foul by the officials.
Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole lead the Warriors to an inspiring win

The Memphis Grizzlies were expected to absolutely obliterate the Warriors given their depleted squad and their star player Steph Curry out of action. Yet Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson rose to the occasion and delivered stellar performances. Poole scored 32 points before getting ejected in the 4 quarter. Thompson on the other hand scored 24 points to conclude the night.
The Warriors have a 16-18 record overall after tonight’s victory. They are 3-16 away from home and 13-2 at home. The Dubs’ eight-game homestand began with tonight’s opener. This eight-game span is significant because it will lay the groundwork for the rest of the season.
This victory should give the Dubs a lot more confidence because nobody anticipated them beating the West’s top team on Christmas Day. The Warriors should be able to hold down the fort until Stephen Curry returns. If they can continue to play like they did last night they’ll be able to improve their record.
