Klay Thompson has had a fairly remarkable career for himself earning some of the best laurels along the way. Obviously, he is part of the Golden State Warriors that dominated the last decade with their incredible chemistry and overall game. But it turns out the Splash Brother is more impressed by the King’s career than anyone else’s.

He praised LeBron James and his 2016 title run with the Cleveland Cavaliers on the “All the Smoke” podcast. He said, “Bron is a beast. My goodness, he was like a triple-double last series. I don’t care what the shooting splits were. You had to shoot all the shots and. It’s incredible.”

He further commented on the talented roster the Cavs set up that year, saying, “That was a nasty big three, man. They all brought the best out of each other the role guys did their job. Shump (Iman Shumpert) was a tough defender, they had toughness on that team. It’s like if you don’t put shooting around LeBron, you’re not gonna get the most out of him. So they were still really good.”

Klay Thompson claimed that the Cavaliers had them running for their money. LeBron won his third title in 2016 averaging 25.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game during the regular season. The King took it up a notch in the playoffs with 26.3 points, 9.5 rebounds as well as 7.6 assists per game, and then 29.7 ppg during the Finals alone.

Klay Thompson was part of one of the greatest dynasties to have ever existed in the NBA. Stephen Curry was on a whole other level breaking three-point records while winning back-to-back MVP awards. It was very clear to fans that the Warriors would win the title in 2016 coming off a 73-9 regular season.

Unfortunately, LeBron James had other plans. The Cavs battled the Warriors four times following Bron’s return. The Warriors won it in 2015 but lost in 2016, and they regained the top spot in the two seasons that followed. The Cavs and Warriors Finals series is one of the most iconic battles that took place in the NBA.
