The Miami Heat defeated the Golden State Warriors 114-102 on Thursday to begin their five-game road trip in the Bay Area. They won in Golden State for the first time since 2020 as they easily won. The Heat outperformed the Warriors despite their best efforts to rally behind their star guards, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Coach Kerr shared the same views.

The team as a whole, not just rookie Brandin Podziemski, took responsibility for Thursday’s 114-102 home loss to the Miami Heat. In the press conference following the game, the media asked the seasoned Warriors guard, Klay Thompson, about his thoughts on Podziemski’s statement that he was a contributing factor in the team’s loss because he could not bring his all to the game.

Thompson reacted quite comically when this was explained to him. Thompson said,

Jeez. Dramatic rookie. Yeah it wasn't great tonight, and i don't know, I don't have a great answer for you. You can't blame BP.

Podziemski’s accepting responsibility is not new, even though this is a typical Klay reaction. He attended military school, which is where this all started. They paved his independence with instruction at St. John’s North Western Military Academy. The 45-minute commute from home proved to be a pivotal moment in his life, as he had spent a significant portion of his youth in Wisconsin.

It demoralized Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors after the loss

It devastated Warriors veteran Steph Curry and Klay Thompson after losing to the Miami Heat on Thursday for the second time. The Warriors All-Star backcourt struggled mightily on the night of shooting, managing 13 points between them on a paltry 26.9% (7-of-26) clip. The team spent much of the game playing catch-up to the Heat due to their shooting difficulties.

Steve Kerr also summed it up for the loss. He said in the post-game interview,

It felt like we got demoralized. We got out-coached, outworked and outplayed.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson appeared solemn on the bench shortly before the game ended, with the latter hiding his head with a towel.

After falling to the defending champion Denver Nuggets 120-114 on Christmas Day, Golden State suffered its second consecutive defeat. Due to players coming and going from the team due to injuries and other problems, the Warriors have only managed a 15-16 record.
