“I will never play for any other coach” Klay Thompson wants Steve Kerr to be his ultimate Phil Jackson

Klay Thompson and Steve Kerr
Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are officially back in the business and also are their Dynasty days. As the Splash Brothers are 2022 NBA champions and have led the franchise to their fourth title in the last eight years (Warriors have a total of 7 titles). Not many expected them to have a successful championship run even Head Coach Steve Kerr wasn’t expecting them to win it all but he always knew they’ll be good. The Dub didn’t only bring in the fourth championship for Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Andre Igoudala but also an FMVP for the Chef who now has shut downed all his haters who were criticizing him. Even the captain who is also known for his Game 6 performance was feeling himself after being back on the winning stage after years of struggles.

Klay Thompson was out of the league for two seasons as he suffered a season-ending injury which has cost players their careers. But fortunately, he’s back and even riding as a champion. He stepped up as a role player for the team a great one who can be trusted with the ball anytime needed. He knew he won’t be the same star after the years-long break so some alteration was necessary and he did that. Now he’s a four-time champion and has been to six straight finals in the six straight years he has played since 2015 (was injured for 2020 and 2021 seasons). The road was surely tough but staying undefeated and locked in they got it done together and now are enjoying their success.
The Boston Celtics hosted the Golden State Warriors at TD Garden for Game 6 of the NBA Finals as they wanted to force a Game 7 at Chase Center. But nothing like that happened as the Dubs were ready to wrap it up early and register another title on their name. The game unexpectedly was not at all closely contested but surely a tensed one. The Celtics came in ruling and had a 14-2 lead in the starting minutes of the first quarter but soon it all looked washed and everything started going south. As the Dubs made a comeback and led by 22 points in the game. The Celtics once were able to cut it down to 8 but Chef just manhandled them everywhere on the floor. The final box score stands at 103-90 favoring the Golden State Warriors.
Klay Thompson didn’t had to show up in his Game 6 form as Stephen Curry (34 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds) was enough for the Celtics. He just backed his splash brother up and dropped 12 points, 2 assists and 5 rebounds while playing some great defense. After lifting the championship and getting his fourth title registered he admired Head Coach Steve Kerr for his greats. As he’s the glue the team is still together and winning it all for so many years and the counting will surely continue as they are officially back in the business.

Klay Thompson gives his respect to Steve Kerr

Klay Thompson in the post-game interview with the ABC crew of Isiah Thomas and others discussed his journey throughout and even mentioned how he was sad spectating his team from the sidelines for the last two years. And how Steve Kerr had him up and motivated all the time. Showing out his respect to the head coach he quoted: “Imma go Michael Jordan and I would never play for another coach beside Steve Kerr…that’s not wanted to feel right…my knee just lies with Mr. Kerr”
Steve Kerr has really brought in success for the Dubs as he has led the franchise to 4 championships and has 9 himself. He has seen it all now and has never given up on his boys. So Klay Thompson admiring him and giving him the correct respect is very understandable. Him saying he won’t play under any other head coach is enough to show out the locker room energy the franchise has maintained for the last decade. Kerr with the legendary trio and the rest of the squad locked in now also has a real shot on the all-time championships won record. As it won’t be easy to stop them now.
