LeBron James has been around in the NBA league for two decades. The former No.1 overall pick has been tremendous over the years delivering some of the best offensive and defensive players that basketball fans have ever seen. According to several people, he was the next biggest thing to happen to the NBA succeeding the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is often compared to Michael Jordan even today. Almost every time he achieves something new he gets dumped into the GOAT conversation all over again. While being one of the oldest players around (turning 39 years old this December) he has been performing on an unattainable level to other players of his age.

In an interview with NBC Sports, former teammate Kyrie Irving shared his thoughts on Bron being thrown about in the GOAT conversation. He said, “All those comparisons are fun to talk about. “It’s how intense it gets… I hope that some individuals see when they’re watching the games, just the appreciation for what’s happening.”

He recalled what his Head Coach on the Boston Celtics told him, “Shout out to my man Brad Stevens on this. He told me, ‘Comparison is the thief of joy.’ And that right there was one of the most profound things I’ve ever heard.” At that stage of his career, LeBron James delivered one of his best seasons, so when Irving was asked if his former teammate was on the level of MJ, he said, “Nah.”

LeBron James is currently after one of the most sought-after records, that has not been broken in over thirty years. He is currently over a thousand points away from shattering Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s All-Time Scoring record of 38,387. He is most likely to break the record early next year.

He currently averages 24 points, 9.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. LeBron James is a pivotal figure on any roster he is put into. But only a few things stand in the way of him being dubbed the greatest of all time. When Irving’s comments came out Bron had just won his third ring. He currently has 4 titles under his name just two shy of Michael Jordan’s collection.
